Latest Polling Shows Colorado’s Marijuana Legalization Initiative With Growing Lead

Colorado’s Amendment 64, which aims to regulate marijuana in a manner similar alcohol, is gaining favorability with voters as the November election nears. New polling data, released over the weekend by DenverPost/SurveyUSA, shows Amendment 64 support growing. 51% of respondents said they would vote in favor of the measure, with only 40% saying they will vote against it. 8% remain undecided. A new poll just released by SurveyUSA, shows Washington State’s Initiative 502 is maintaining its commanding lead heading into November. The latest survey data has likely voters in Washington supporting I-502 by a large margin, 57% of respondents stated they planned on voting yes, 34% said they would vote no, and 9% are undecided. Survey data just released by Public Policy Polling shows Massachusetts’ medical marijuana initiative, Question 3, with an overwhelming lead amongst likely voters. From August 16th to the 19th, PPP surveyed 1,115 likely Massachusetts voters. This afternoon, the Arkansas secretary of state’s office announced that an initiative that aims to allow Arkansas patients with qualifying conditions to use cannabis for therapeutic purposes has qualified for the ballot in November. The campaign backing the initiative, Arkansans for Compassionate Care, had submitted their initial signatures for approval in July, only to come up short. Marijuana Decriminalization Measure Approved for Fall Ballot in Springfield, MO

Residents of Springfield, Missouri will likely be voting on a marijuana decriminalization measure this fall. Initiative proponents, Show-Me Cannabis Regulation, submitted their final round of signatures to the city clerk in the past week and received word yesterday that they have met the required threshold of signatures for qualification. Poll: Support for Marijuana Legalization Initiative Growing in Washington

New polling data from SurveyUSA shows growing support for Washington State’s marijuana legalization initiative, I-502. The new survey found that 55 percent approve of the initiative, with just 32 percent opposed and 13 percent undecided. The Oregon secretary of state’s office completed the legalization trifecta this afternoon when they announced the Oregon Cannabis Tax Act of 2012 (OCTA) officially qualified for the November ballot. Oregon now joins Washington and Colorado on the list of states whose voters will have the opportunity to end cannabis prohibition this fall. Supporters ended up turning in 88,887 valid signatures, slightly over 1,000 more than required for qualification. A representative from the Secretary of State’s Office in Massachusetts has confirmed that an initiative seeking to allow for medicinal cannabis use by qualified patients has been approved for November’s ballot in the Bay State.
