Farm Bill Provisions Lifting Federal Hemp Ban Become Law

President Donald Trump today signed legislation into law that includes language lifting the United States’ decades-long prohibition on domestic, commercial hemp production. The provisions were included within The Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018 (aka ‘The Farm Bill’), which takes effect on January 1, 2019.

Low-Income Medical Marijuana Patient Evicted for Doctor Recommended Therapy

As a result of the ongoing conflict between state and federal marijuana laws, tens of thousands of low-income medical marijuana patients around the country are at risk of losing their homes. If approved by Congress, the Marijuana in Federally Assisted Housing Parity Act would protect medical marijuana patients who are in compliance with state laws from being denied access to federally assisted housing.
