At the end of the day, when the Attorney General of the United States publicly contemplates the federal prosecution of those in the adult use marijuana industry, we should take these threats seriously.
Americans across the nation are clamoring: “Tax me, tax me, just please stop arresting me!”
By George Rohrbacher, Former Washington State Senator (R), Former NORML board member
Sessions’ latest comments are completely fictitious and describe a reality that only exists in the world of alternative facts. Marijuana legalization has not lead to increased violence, but rather has lead to lowered youth use rates, increased tax revenue, and fewer arrests of otherwise law abiding American citizens.
Already it appears that Sen. Grassley will try to keep the hearings as short as possible and restrict the number of witnesses who testify.
With 8 states now having legalized the adult use of marijuana and over half the country having medical marijuana programs, the American people deserve to know what President-Elect Trump’s policy towards these states will be.
